Reminiscing St. Maarten

4 Months have past since our 3 week stay on the Island of St. Maarten and our hearts remain there.  Here is the full recap of the fun and festivities taken from my journal during the trip:

Tuesday, February 20th, 2018:  Well, quite.a journey its been thus far.  Saturday hung out at home, Sunday woke up to a foot of snow and fridged temps, they had cancelled our flight for Sunday am so. i spent the day plowing, we then got on the plane at 3pm, flew to Seattle, hung out at the airport forever, had some beverages, lost my wallet for a little bit but found it at the check in place, got on the red eye to Miami, got there, hung out, got to St. Maarten around 4pm, went to dany's beach, got our car, drove to our condo and crashed for the evening, I went to the grocery store for some supplies, now getting ready for our first. Day.  Should be a good one.   

Wednesday, February 21st, 2018:  Good day yesterday, up early, walk to the beach, nice, then went to dany's for the entire day, lots of great sand, got a little burn, had some beverages, really great time.  After the beach, went to Buccaneer Beach club for Pizza, really great.  Then home, watched a movie and off to bed.  At Danys got to chat with a bunch of interesting people, was a truly relaxing day.  Now, off to Scuba attempt and back to the beach.   

Thursday, February 22nd, 2018:  Well, cancelled Scuba yesterday for high seas, rescheduled for the same days next week.  So we went to Phillipsburg yesterday, the cruise port area ate lunch at the blue bitch bar, had wings and a few drinks.  Gina got her blue diamond ring, very nice indeed.  We then went and hung out at Dany's, was rainy and windy but still a very nice day.  After we went to the Dingy Dock bar for build a burger night, it was very fun, then home for R&R and a movie.  Great day.  Today is sunny with a little wind, we are going to attempt Dany's beach for the day, see ya later.   

Friday, February 23rd, 2018:  Went to Dany's beach all day yesterday, fun time.  After Gina and I went to Karakters for some snacks and drinks, just the two of us, they had a really good singer, was fun.  Then we went to Rhythm and Booze with Burl, Deb, Church, Tasha and some of their friends, super busy, fun time, left a little tipsy, Home around 1am, slept in until 9, now just haning out getting ready for the day.  

Sunday, February 25th, 2018:  Friday night we went to the Red Piano for Carribean Music night, fun time, very busy, kind of crazy really.  Home pretty late, the parking was insane, glad we walked from our house.  Saturday we drove around the Island and hung out at Orient beach all day with a group of people, fun time, can't believe how much is destroyed at the beach for sure.  After Gina and I stopped at our newest regular hangout, Bucanner beach bar, had great pizza again with some beverages, Up today, think we are going to Dany's again for the day.

Tuesday, February 26th, 2018:  Sunday we spent at Dany's, night we went to buccaneer again for Reggae night, it was great, went up to friends hotel to check it out, very nice place.  Monday, back on the beach for the day, then to the Dingy Dock for a sandwich, split it, saw a bunch of people we know there, funny look on some guys face who was acting like we were some total tourists until we left and literally said good bye to everyone in the place as we knew them all, funny.  Monday night, church night with a bunch of friends, now off to the races for Tuesday.   

Friday, March 2nd, 2018:  Tuesday we spent the day at Dany's stopped at Buccanneer for ribs, home early and off to bed.  Wednesday I got up and headed out for diving at ocean divers, nice dive, lots of lobster and cool fish for sure, then to Dany's for the day.  Ended the evening coming home and eating sandwiches,  Up early on Thursday and off to 2 dives, very cool, one shark dive, one wreck dive, very fun for sure.  Spent the day on Dany's again, had a really nice birthday party for deby at dany's, lots of great food and friends, then home, got ready and went to the opening night of the regatta, great time, got to hang with doug and nancy, burl and deb, churchie and tasha, great music, food, fun and drinks, to bed late.  Up today, hung out a bit, off to philipsburg to meet with burl, and went to sylvie and brads for a really nice regatta party, got to meet bill and susie from the island whom I always follow on FB, then home for a nap and now getting ready for regatta night 2, should be fun.  Day 12 on the Island, how nice for sure. 

Saturday, March 3rd, 2018:  After we got moving yesterday we headed to Philipsburg and met up with Burl and Deb, they took us up this unreal road up in the mountains to Sylvie and Brads for a really nice house party, we had a great time, good food, good people, good time.  We came home for a nap, got up and headed to night 2 of the Regatta, great time, good music, just all around fun, got some food a few times, home and to bed nice and late.  Up this am and now we are off to Orient Beach for the afternoon and night 3 of the regatta party, 

Monday, March 5th, 2018:  Orient beach was great!  Hung out most of the day, enjoyed the sun and bunches of friends and a great drive.  Home, changed and headed to the Regatta, Onyon and 3 cylendars were great, as was Destra, home, sleep, up and crazy hike to Bel Creole beach with Burl, Deb, Basil, Linda, Rod and Donna, then to Dany's beach for a party, and watching a HUGE surf, Buccaneer for Pizza, then off to the Regatta for Shaggy concert, fun day for sure.  Today, Orient again.  and a great day on the beach it was, sunny, warm, just nice.  Tonight, Church.. 

Wednesday, March 7th, 2018:  Update over the past couple of days, went to Church on Monday, 3 cylendar again, very good, very cool as we had the big couch reserved for us, Brad, Sylvie, Burl, Deb and me and Gina, very cool and fun time.  We bagged out a little early as the nights caught up with us.  Yesterday, stopped at Dany's for a little drink then off to Orient again, a nice day again, Brad, Sylvie, Polly, Steve, Burl, Debbie, Greg, Michelle, Bill, Susie and me and Gina, great group.  Later we stopped at Dany's for the sunset, super nice, then we went to Advantika for dinner, really great, even got my Tiramisu, awesome.  Not, Last full day on the Island, starting to pack, getting the day going.   

Saturday, March 10th, 2018:  Last trip update: On Wednesday we spent our last day hanging at Orient beach, great day, had a burger at the Perch Lite, good, just a great day in the sun.  On Wednesday afternoon we went and watched our last sunset at Dany's then off to town, we stopped at the Soggy Dollar, nothing happening but got to see some great sail boats, then to the Jungle club, nothing happening, then to Marty's where they were playing Salsa, we danced with a "professional dance couple", learned a little salsa, lol, ate and drank some, then off to bed.  Up on Thursday, finished packing and cleaning the room and off to Dany's for the last few hours of sun.  We then went to the airport, got all checked in and got on the bus to the plan, flew to Miami, rush through customes and the airport, then to San Fran, 5 hour layover, tried to sleep in a very cold airport without much success, then to Seattle, had time for a few drinks which was nice, then to Kalispell, Micah picked us up at the airport, home, went to Pizza at MacKenzie river, home and off to bed.  End of Story.
